Infrared (IR) Passing Filters
 


 

Used for infrared photography.  These filters allow infrared light to pass through while blocking the visible light.

The M&K 1000 passes only infrared rays above 1000nm.  The M&K #093 pass infrared rays above 830nm.  The M&K #078 passes only infrared rays above 780nm.  The RM90 passes only that above 900nm. 

Often used in crime detection, medical photography, detection of distribution of vegetation, etc.

In ordinary photography with infrared film, the Yellow, Orange, Red, and other filters can also be used to change the contrast or color effect.
